Learning a new thing but it seems like I always have to learn it. How to trust when I want so much to be able to solve everyone's problems. Learning that He, our Lord is sufficient.
Great freedom to know that in John 17, He, our Lord is praying for us, today.
John 17 v. 20
I am not praying just for these followers. But also for everyone else who will have faith.
Thank you Lord Jesus.

So, this is my second attempt at blogging. I'm not sure this word(blogging) is in the dictionary yet.

My comments yesterday on the poor widow resulted from my thoughts about miracles.
Most of the miracles I've been reading about didn't result from hours of prayer. Rather the people involved believed, and in believing they spoke or acted out and then things happened.
For instance:
Acts 3 v.1-10 Peter and John and the crippled man. He didn't even ask for a miracle. They didn't have a prayer meeting first. But they, being filled with God's Spirit, acted on their faith.
2nd Kings 4 v. 38 to 6v. 7 or 38. Axe heads floating, stew tasting better, seeing the angels and stopping the Syrian invasion.
Joshua 10 v. 12-13 Joshua was bold enough to pray loud enough for the people around to hear. "Lord let the sun stop in the sky and the moon stand still." It didn't take him hours of thought to pray it just right, but out of faith he prayed to the Lord God in Whom he trusted.

Why do we not have this Holy boldness, faith , true hope, or whatever to expect things to happen? God hasn't changed so it must be us. Elisha was a person just like us. Is it time for us to catch hold of Elijah's cape and expect God to do great things?!!
How would things change in our world if we were available to God as he wants us to be?

Thoughts on 2nd Kings 4

THE POOR WIDOW

1. She was a widow of a prophet. The prophet should not have had to go into debt, his family should have been taken care of.

2. When Elisha told the woman what to do, (there was no lengthy prayer meeting), she didn’t argue or question what she was to do but simply obeyed.

3. Her sons also obeyed. When they exhausted their supply of jars to fill with the oil from the miricle, the oil then stopped. There is always sufficient to supply our needs.

4. The miracle provided enough not just for the immediate need, but also a sufficient amount for her and her sons to live on.. God’s supply is always more than sufficient.
